Each year, more and more colleges and universities field crew teams, either on the club level or on the intercollegiate level. The sport is rapidly gaining in popularity throughout the country. Over the past ten years, many of the Club’s rowers have participated in rowing at the college level.

CCCRC Alumni Medal at Head of the Charles

Helen Beckner, NCS '09, and Nick Bax, STA '08, won gold medals at the 2010 Head of the Charles regatta, the largest 2-day regatta in the world. Helen rowed for the University of Wisconsin LW 8+, Nick for Princeton's LW 8+. Both boats smashed course records set in 1992 and 1997, respectively. Joey Kiernan, STA '08, won silver for Williams College in the Collegiate 8+.

It was a reunion of sorts, as several CCCRC alumni competed for their crews, including: Nikki Grigg and Alex Mastroyannis (Yale, both Championship 4+), Christina Bax and Liz Mills (Stanford and Brown, respectively, Championship 8+) , and Molly Hayes (Stanford, LW 8+).
